US stocks: Wall Street closes down as focus shifts to inflation data, debt talks

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed below its last session by almost 57 points, or 0.17%, the S&P 500 lost 18.95 points, or 0.46%, and the Nasdaq Composite sank 77.36 points, or 0.63%. Predictions by PayPal and Skyworks also affected the market mood.
