Govt borrowings unlikely to crowd out private sector, says finance secretary TV Somanathan

Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman pegged the government's gross borrowing for FY23 at Rs 14.9 lakh crore, compared with a downward revised Rs 10.5 lakh crore in FY22, in her February 1 budget, which put capital expenditure at the centre of a plan to bolster the economy.
