Govt, auto industry czars spar over taxes, emission norms

he government and the auto industry openly clashed over the issue of affordability of vehicles and taxation on automobiles at an industry event. Industry stalwarts such as Maruti chairman RC Bhargava and TVS Motors promoter Venu Srinivasan complained that the industry was being ignored and high taxation and stricter safety and emission norms have made their products expensive and out of bounds for the common man.
