Despite the rising cases, most economists feel the situation may not be as bad as in the first wave, partly because extensive lockdowns are not an option anymore and vaccination has picked up pace. The impact is likely to be transitory in nature and muted compared with the first quarter of FY21 as consumers and businesses adapt to the new normal.
