Markets open at fresh highs, sensex jumps over 250 points to 49,778; Nifty above 14,600

Equity indices started on a positive note on Wednesday with the benchmark BSE sensex rising over 200 points, led by gains in bank and auto stocks. The 30-share BSE sensex was trading 260 points or 0.53 per cent up at an all-time high of 49,778 at 9.40 am. While, the broader NSE scaled a fresh peak of 14,648.
