Sensex shoots up 623 points, Nifty ends above 11,800 day after strong mandate for PM Modi

Equity indices finished in green on Friday, a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP retained power with an absolute majority in the Lok Sabha elections. The benchmark BSE sensex soared 623.33 points or 1.61 per cent to close at 39,434.72, while the broader NSE Nifty rose 187.05 points or 1.60 per cent to end at 11,844.10.
