Centre waives customs duty on oxygen, vaccines, equipment

The government on Saturday decided to waive off basic customs duty and health cess on import of oxygen and oxygen related equipment for three months as the authorities stepped up measures to augment supplies to fight the raging second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Bio E's vaccine candidate gets nod for phase-III trials

Kuwait indefinitely suspends all flights from India

Amid rising Covid cases in India, Kuwait on Saturday suspended all commercial flights from the country for an indefinite period with immediate effect. In a circular, Kuwait’s DGCA said Indians can arrive there from some other country only if they have stayed outside India for atleast 14 days.

Citi India’s $2bn retail biz worth tops in Asia: Report

Macquarie Research has valued Citibank’s India retail business at around $2bn, based on their Basel III disclosures in the country. This makes India the most valuable business among the 10 markets in the Asia-Pacific where Citi plans to exit consumer business. These 10 markets are collectively valued between $6.3 billion and $8 billion by Macquarie.
