MSMEs to be returned 95% of fines imposed during Covid

The budget has also paved the way for easier flow of collateral-free funds, lower cost of funds and timely payments to MSMEs besides easier norms for statutory audits. An infusion of ₹9,000 crore in the Credit Guarantee Fund will enable additional collateral-free guaranteed credit of ₹2 lakh crore while the cost of the credit would be reduced by about 1%.

Modi govt makes a strong political pitch in Budget 2023 ahead of polls

The maximum increase - 197% over last fiscal - has been for building Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) for promotion of quality education in remote tribal areas. The budget proposes dovetailing at least six targeted existing schemes, including Venture Capital Fund for STs, Pradhan Mantri Jan Jatiya Vikas Mission, National Fellowship and Scholarship for Higher Education of ST students, National Overseas Scholarship Scheme, under ₹655 crore National Tribal Welfare Programme for better utilisation of funds and improved implementation of schemes.

Budget: Govt announces 150-pc hike in outlay of Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban; total allocation Rs 5,000 Cr

Economy to grow 6-6.8% next year, recovery complete: Economic Survey

The annual Economic Survey for 2022-23 projected the economy to grow by somewhere between 6% and 6.8%, depending on global factors in 2023-24, with 6.5% a baseline expectation. While admitting that the world economy faces considerable uncertainty that could affect India’s growth, the survey struck a confident note, mirroring the sunny posture of the government, which plans to showcase the recovery on its watch as one of the main pitches for the 2024 polls.
