Tata Motors, Vedanta, Infosys, M&M and ITC were top gainers while Bharti Infratel and Titan Company corrected a bit.

'Muhurat' trading 2019: Sensex up over 200 points; Nifty above 11,600

Equity indices on Sunday started 'Muhurat' trading session on a positive note with the benchmark BSE sensex rising over 200 points. Sensex surged 220 points or 0.57% to 39,279 while the broader NSE Nifty stayed above the 11,600-mark. 'Muhurat' means auspicious in Hindi, and many traders believe gains made during this session bring prosperity in the year ahead.

RBI quashes reports of it selling gold reserves

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Sunday clarified that it had not sold any of its gold reserves or done any trading in the yellow metal. The Central bank's announcement, in a series of tweets, came in the wake of media reports which stated that the RBI has been selling its gold reserves.

Crisil places Infosys on ‘ratings watch’

The move by Crisil, the Indian arm of global major S&P, comes in the backdrop of Infosys’ recent disclosure that two whistleblowers have written mails to its board, alleging malpractices by its top management in recognising revenue and also auditing.
